Line-Up Announced : Manchester United Team To Face Copenhagen

Manchester United’s team to face Copenhagen in tonight’s Europa League quarter final has been announced.

“Whatever XI I would have picked I feel it would have been a strong one,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV. “Some players didn’t play last Wednesday and of course it’s a few weeks since we played against Leicester and we need to be ready and we need to be sharp.”

“The players have trained well and it was time to put some of them back in. Of course Fred, Sergio, Brandon, Harry and Eric played last week and I thought they did really well so hopefully we can have a good performance.

“Of course it’s different,” Ole said about the single leg aspect. “It’s a bit surreal anyway. We know that if we can go through we’ll have another great game in the semis and it’s the same for everyone. We’ve got 90 minutes plus extra time if we need to, but of course playing them at Old Trafford would have been advantage.”

Solskjaer also spoke about his opposite number, friend Stale Solkakken.

“I know how Stale has built the club and what they’re about,” he said. “Of course, I played against them when I was at Molde. I’ve known Stale for such a long time, and Copenhagen have a great history in getting into Europe and doing well in Europe.

“Stale’s team, they’ve got individuals there and very good players. There are young forwards, three of them, to be fair, and experienced players in midfield and at the back. But I think the biggest strength is the teamwork and how well organised Stale’s teams always are.”
